The ITCG Pasini surveyors design a refuge in Pakistan

Written by  Tuesday, 26 May 2015

Wednesday, 20th May 2015 at 11:00, in the Council Hall in Schio (VI), took place the presentation of all the projects for the "Cristina Castagna Community House Climbing Center" refuge, that is going to be realized in Pakistan. These projects have been invented by 5th year students of Surveyors Institute ITCG Pasini in Schio, after the proposal of Schio's CAI section, in memory of the mountaineer from Vicenza.

The project, which involved students and teachers of the Schio school, provided the realization of several proposals for the building of an indoor polifunctional facility, approximatively 300 mq large, that would be suitable for local community's need and also for hikers which want to venture into Hindu Kush's valleys and massifs (Pakistan).

For the realization of the projects, the aspiring surveyors had to follow some architectural parameters typically of that place, for example exterior walls made with granite, interior walls made with plasterboard, the paving in poor materials and the roof in metal sheet. To do this, the students didn't just worked together and used English language, but they also received suggestions by experts and visited companies sustaining the project (Tondin porte was visited too by aspiring surveyors!).

The realized projects will then compose an exhibition and a publication made by Pasini school, in collaboration with Schio's CAI and Surveyors' Association.
